Coaching

Supporting a child with developmental differences, disability, neurodivergence, or medical complexity involves far more than finding the right therapies, specialists, or services. Families are often asked to navigate uncertainty, advocate within complex systems, make difficult decisions, interpret communication that may look different, and continually adapt as their child—and the family as a whole—grows and changes.

Along the way, parents and caregivers may experience exhaustion, self-doubt, grief, isolation, frustration, or the feeling that they are always responding to the next challenge. Even when they are deeply committed to their child, it can be difficult to pause, reflect, and find a way forward that feels sustainable and aligned with their family’s values.

Christine offers individualized coaching for parents and caregivers who want support as they navigate these experiences. Her approach begins with the caregiver—not because parents are responsible for “fixing” their child, but because greater awareness can create more choice, connection, and possibility within everyday interactions.

Together, you may explore:

  • How you are currently understanding your child and their experiences
  • The ways your thoughts, emotions, expectations, and stress responses influence your interactions
  • What your child may be communicating through movement, behaviour, attention, expression, or connection
  • How to recognize and respond to your child’s individual ways of learning and engaging
  • How to shift from automatic reactions toward greater curiosity and intentionality
  • How to advocate for your child while remaining connected to your own needs and values
  • How to navigate changing developmental, medical, educational, and family circumstances
  • How to create more supportive and connected experiences in everyday life

Coaching is a collaborative process. Christine does not approach families with a prescriptive formula or a single definition of progress. Instead, she listens carefully to each family’s experiences, strengths, concerns, and priorities, helping parents develop a deeper understanding of what is happening and identify practical ways to move forward.

Who can benefit from coaching?

This work may be especially helpful for caregivers who feel overwhelmed by conflicting advice, uncertain about how to interpret their child’s communication, or disconnected from their own sense of confidence. It can also support parents who want to strengthen their relationship with their child, prepare for a transition, process a difficult experience, or explore new ways of responding to challenges.

At the heart of Christine’s approach is the belief that children are always communicating and that meaningful connection begins when we become curious about who they are, rather than focusing only on what they can or cannot do. When a child feels seen, understood, and supported, new possibilities for connection and participation may emerge. When caregivers feel supported and empowered, they are better able to meet their child with presence, flexibility, and confidence.

Coaching is not about becoming a perfect parent or having all the answers. It is an opportunity to slow down, notice what is happening, and develop a more compassionate and responsive way of being with your child and yourself.
